At Empress Quilts and Textiles, we are proud of our own specialised duvet manufacturing facilities. As experts in the industry, we have been established for many years, so we certainly know a thing or two about duvet manufacturing. In fact, we are in the process of fitting out a completely new duvet, bedding, and towels manufacturing site to our own exact specifications to make our process even better.
A duvet is basically a quilted blanket filled with either natural material such as feathers and down or an alternative synthetic material. It is the structure and quilting that keeps the filling evenly spread, traps the heat, and keeps you warm. The outer shell layer consists of a high thread count cotton or man-made fibre to keep the filling trapped inside.
How are duvets made? This is one of the most frequent questions we are asked. In our factories we manufacture all of the duvets and bedding that we sell. This process involves several stages including processing and preparing the filling, sewing the duvet case, filling the duvet, and sealing the edges. The exact process depends on the type of filling being used and the style of duvet being created. Feather and down requires much more processing prior to use such as cleaning, washing and drying.
Whatever duvets you select, you can be sure that we have manufactured them to the highest quality standards, and you will not be disappointed.
